Western coastal communities are expected to be worst affected by strong gale force winds this evening.
Met Eireann has issued a low level weather warning as wind speeds will reach up to 110 kilometres per hour.
There is no widespread damage expected but people are advised to exercise caution near exposed coasts.
Spot flooding is also forecast – and showers and winds are expected to ease by 11 o’clock tonight.
