AVIVA KNOCKNACARRA BRANCH TO REMAIN OPEN
Date Published: 23-Nov-2011
The Aviva call centre in Knocknacarra looks likely to remain open despite the insurance company announcing it’s shutting all its Irish branches.
26 branches, including the Eyre Square branch which employs 10 people, are to close by June of next year.
However, the call centre in Knocknacarra, which currently employs 200 staff, is expected to continue to deal with customer care into the future.
It’s not known at this stage if any jobs will be lost from the call centre.
There’s also speculation that some jobs from the Eyre Square branch could be transferred to Knocknacarra.
A statement from Aviva says ‘work continues on the feasibility’ of its options and ‘no decisions have been made’.
Unions are seeking meetings today to clarify restructuring plans for Aviva, which employs around 2 thousand people in Ireland.
