Figures released by the local authority show that over 21 thousand people used the service last month compared to over 15 thousand 600 in 2011.
There was also a 20 percent increase in the number of cars parked up at Ballybrit Racecourse over the period.

Buses run every 15 minutes from 7am until 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am to 7pm on Sunday for a two euro all in cost.
Head of Galway Transportation Unit Joe Tansey says the figures show the growing level of demand for the service and efforts are continuing to secure a permanent site.
