Now that the grand auld stretch is on the horizon and Covid appears to be mostly in the rear view mirror, there’s a certain lightness in the air.

And space for frivolities has remerged.

Frivolities like fashion.

Remember when you last bought an outfit?

Or a pair of shoes?

It feels like a century ago. There didn’t seem to be much point splurging on clothes when you didn’t know if you could go outside the door to parade around in them. I don’t know how many times nights out, weddings, events carefully highlighted in the calendar went out the window.

Well, that’s hopefully in the past.

So if you have managed to save in the last two years and are ready to indulge your sartorial streak, this week we’re highlighting the trends for Spring Summer 2022 and give a sneak peak what you can expect in the shops for this season.

If you have managed to get rid of those excess Covid pounds by now, you will be thanking your lucky stars.

As many of the top designers are pushing styles that show off the flesh. From all angles.

“Short, sheer and second-skin takes on sexy are back” is how Vogue puts it.

The likes of Donatella Versace has embraced thigh-slits and bare midriffs, while Gucci is showing a penchant for transparent lace mini dresses and latex bustiers.
