YOUNG MUMMERS WIN AT NEW INN

There was a huge crowd in New Inn last night for the staging of the Junior section of the 35th Annual Mummers Festival .

The overall winners were – The Kilnadeema Mummers and the runners – up wereThe Rahan Mummers from Co. Offaly.

The Best Musician Award went to – Ciaran O’Dea of Corofin and the Best Dancers were -The Kilnadeema Set Dancers.

The Best Flute Player at the Festival was -Aoife Kavanagh of Rahan and The Best Singer Award went to -Laura Kelly also from Rahan , Co.Offaly .

The Best Storyteller was Mark Holohan of Kilnadeema , and the Most Outstanding Young Entertainer Award went to Matthew Burke of the Merry Mummers from Claregalway.

The Best Individual Awards went to – Christopher Feeney- Ceol Chonaill , Enda Kilgariff – Claran , Matthew Burke – Claregalway , Caitlyn Minnock – Rahan ,Paul Holohan – Kilnadeema and Ciaran McDonagh – Corofin.

The Festival continues tonight with the staging of the Senior Competition , commencing at 7.30 p.m
