YOUNG MAN TO APPEAR IN COURT FOR BITING CLIFDEN GARDA

An 18 year old Clifden man is expected to appear in court today in relation to an assault in Clifden on Sunday night.

The incident happened in the town around 8.30pm, when a Garda, who was on duty, was bitten.

The Garda suffered minor injuries

Gardai arrested the man shortly after 5pm yesterday evening.

He’s being detained at Clifden Garda station under section 4 of the criminal Justice Act.

A spokesperson for the Garda press office told Galway Bay Fm News he’s expected to appear in court today in relation to the assault.
