‘World’ yacht expected to attract further cruise liners to Galway
Galway bay fm newsroom – The presence of the world’s largest residential liner in Galway bay today is likely to attract further high end cruise liners to the West of Ireland.
That’s according to Galway harbour Master, Brian Sheridan.
Weighing over 40 thousand tonnes ‘The World’ has docked out past Mutton Island as it’s too large for the inner harbour.
The price of a two bedroom apartment onboard is almost three million dollars – and its residents pay maintenance fees of twenty thousand dollars a month.
Brian Sheridan says he expects the presence of this liner is likely to have a ‘domino’ affect, and adds
over 40 residents have already disembarked and are enjoying trips in the city and around the Connemara region.
