Work to start on Tuam Car Park next month
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Work on refurbishing Tuam’s Shambles Car Park is to begin in the middle of next month.
Contractors P&D Lydon have been appointed to carry out the work which will include the provision of a new walkway leading to Church Lane.
The refurbished car park at The Shambles will have two spaces reserved for electric cars and other improvements will include resurfacing and the provision of new public lighting.
Town manager Frank Gilmore told this week’s town council meeting that Galway Co Council have already installed new improved street lighting at The Square at a cost of over 45,000 Euro.
He said work on the refurbishment of The Shambles car park will take 12 weeks and while there will be some disruption to traffic and for residents it was hoped to keep this to a minimum.
