WORK TO FINALLY RE-START ON CITY ARTHOUSE CINEMA

Work is finally set to re-start on the arthouse cinema in the city in two weeks time.

JJ Rhatigan has been selected as the new contractor for the project which is expected to take 16 months to complete.

Last year, the original contractor pulled out of the project due to financial reasons.

One lane of Dock Road had been closed for over a year to facilitate work on the 4 million euro project.

Fine Gael City Councillor Padraig Conneely says it’s welcome news as the work had caused serious traffic issues in the past.

He said certain concessions will have to be made to accommodate extra traffic during the Volvo Ocean Race.
