Woman dies following Moycullen crash

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A woman in her mid 50s had died following a single-vehicle crash in Moycullen this morning.
It happened at around 4.30 this morning on the N59 Galway to Clifden Road when the car she was driving hit a wall.
A male passenger, aged in his early 50s, was not seriously injured.
Both the man and the woman are believed to be from the area.
The woman’s body has been taken to University Hospital Galway where a post mortem will be carried out.
The man has also been taken there for treatment.
The road will remain closed until later this morning, and diversions are in place between the traffic lights in Moycullen and Truskey West in Barna.
Motorists travelling from the Clifden direction are advised to divert via Spiddal.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the N59 close to Moycullen between 4 and 5 am this morning to contact them at Salthill Garda station on 091-514720.
