Woman dies after being attacked by dogs

A woman in her 60s has died after being attacked by two dogs in Galway.

The incident happened this afternoon at a house on the Moycullen to Spiddal road.

The woman was visiting relations at the house when she was attacked by the two bullmastiffs. She suffered extensive injuries and died.

Her remains have been taken to University Hospital Galway and a post mortem examination is expected to take place tomorrow.
