WITNESS CHANGES EVIDENCE IN CITY SHOOTING TRIAL

A witness has dramatically changed her evidence in the trial of two city men accused of involvement in a shooting in Ballybane almost two years ago.

Teresa Barrett told Galway circuit criminal court that she had lied in the witness box yesterday.

She was giving evidence against John Paul Sweeney of 102 Fearann Rí, Doughiska and Tommy McDonagh of 293 Castlepark, both now living in Gort.

The two men both deny possessing a 12 guage single barrel shotgun and cartridges with intent to endanger the life of Tom Mongan on February 21st 2009.
