Wire-sculpting workshop as new creative space opens
Art in Mind, a new creative hub led by artists, has opened in the Liosbán Business Park in the city. It includes studios, an office space and a gallery.
Art in Mind is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting wellbeing and mental health through creative practice.
It began in 2019 as a gallery space for collaborative community art projects. The project was expanded in March this year to include studio spaces for multidisciplinary arts practitioners. It can now accommodate up to 20 artists and has support services to assist them in creating and showing their work.
Photographer Julia Dunin, designer Niamh Daniels and visual artist and curator Ronan Fahey are among the artists who have studio spaces at Art in Mind.
The space at Liosbán will also accommodate workshops, events, launches and talks for artists and the public. The organisation wants to encourage people to create art through hands-on workshops and talks. Experience is not necessary
In addition, it will have monthly artist-led public events with a focus on mental health issues.
