Songwriter and fiddle player Tony Trundle will launch his latest recording, Winter Swimming, in Monroe’s this Saturday, October 24.

Tony, who grew up in Newry and lived in Manchester until 2007, now lives in Kinvara. His fiddle playing covers many styles from Irish trad to country and rock and roll.   Tony is also an accomplished songwriter.

He describes his songs as “snapshots of characters and situations, kind of short stories”.

Tony, who featured in the Trad Lunchtime sessions at this year’s Arts Festival, will be joined for his launch in Monroe’s by Jimmy Higgins on percussion and Frank Kilkelly on guitar.

■ Doors for the Monroe’s show are at 8.30pm, €12/€10 online
