The 58 year old woman who died in a single car accident in Williamstown yesterday has been named locally as Sally O’Brien from Knockauns East, Williamstown.

Mrs. O’ Brien was the mother of twelve children.

Her husband Michael passed away almost five years ago.

Her five year old grandchild Gemma O’Brien was injured in the crash and removed to University Hospital Galway but her injuries were not life threatening.

It’s understood the car Mrs O’Brien was driving collided with the

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to UHG for a post mortem examination.
