Widespread fog to cause dangerous road conditions
Road users are warned to expect dangerous conditions overnight, with icy patches and widespread fog expected across Galway, as temperatures dip to -4°C.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange fog warning for Connacht, as well as a Status Yellow low temperature warning.
Widespread dense fog is expected overnight in much of Connacht, with some freezing fog many parts. The fog warning is in place from 9pm tonight to 10am Friday.
Temperatures will dip to between zero and -4°C, with a widespread sharp to severe frost and some icy patches.
The advice from AA Roadwatch is to slow down and make sure to use fog lights.
“Slow down, keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you and use your fog lights in affected areas, but remember to turn them off afterwards.”
