Westend banking on successful street festival
Businesses in the west-end of Galway City are hoping to replicate the success of last year’s inaugural Street Feast when they host this year’s event on Bank Holiday Monday, June 4.
More than 2,500 people attended last year’s event, and organisers are hoping for even larger numbers this year, as well as some good weather – as the feast is an outdoor, it is weather dependant.
The Street Feast, which will run from 11am to 4pm along Ravens Terrace, and organisers have teamed up with Walsh Waste to make this a biodegradable and compostable festival, using eco packaging and take away materials.
The event is part of a weekend Westend Summer Festival, and is being held as part of European Region of Gastronomy 2018- Galway, West of Ireland.
The festival will officially begin on Thursday May 31 with a street food showcase at Ravens Terrace, which will run each day.
