Westdoc nurses return to work following dispute

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A group of nurses can now return to work at Westdoc after reaching agreement in an ongoing dispute.
The fallout occurred when 15 nurses were laid off after the insurer of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation withdrew their personal liability cover.
The nurses initially rejected an offer by ballot but have since accepted an amended offer.
Indemnity cover has been sourced at a more reasobable cost, however the parties have yet to reach agreement on who will pay it.
Claire Treacy is spokesperson for the INMO and says an interim arrangement has been reached until a deal on who will pay the insurance is ironed out.
