‘Wegians sell Glenina for €28m

The Galwegians Rugby Club agreed last night to sell its grounds at Crowley Park in Glenina on the Dublin Road and relocate to a new home on the outskirts of the city on the Moycullen Road.

The €28million sale will leave the club with €12million in the bank after the new buyers, Rhattigan Construction, develop the club’s new 30 acre site on the shores of Lough Corrib at Brownsgrove, beyond Glenlo Abbey and quite near the location of the proposed fifth bridge over the river.

The project is all subject to planning, but last night all 78 members of the Galwegians club who attended a meeting to decide on the issue voted in its favour, which delighted Club President, Danno Heaslip.

The club has talked of relocating……………….
