Water supply for Kilrickle comes a step closer
Galway Bay fm newsroom – A water supply for the village of Kilrickle could be one step closer following announcements by Irish Water today.
37 and a half million euro has been allocated for water and wastewater systems in Galway over the next two years as part of Irish Water’s Capital Investment Plan.
Among the projects to benefit is Kinvara wastewater treatment plant which will get a 5.2 million euro upgrade and 11.2 million euro for Athenry Sewerage Scheme.
6 and a half million euro is to be spent on Loughrea’s water supply.
Minister of State, Galway East T. D, Ciaran Cannon says the upgrade in Loughrea will go towards bringing a water supply to Kilrickle.
Minister Cannon says it’s important that they lobby the Environment Minister to fund the infrastructure to bring the Loughrea water supply as far as Kilrickle.
