WATER SHORTAGES ON TWO ARAN ISLANDS

Drought conditions on the Aran Islands have resulted in severe water shortages.

Inis Mór has only a week’s water supply left after its three wells have almost dried up.

Inis Oirr has between 2 to 3 weeks water supply left as its two wells are not as badly affected.

The unusually dry Spring and lack of rainfall is being blamed.
