WATER SEARCH FOR DRUGS TO RESUME AT LUNCHTIME

Final searches are to take place this afternoon off the coast of Galway following a drugs seizure worth an estimated 100 thousand euro.

Several bales of cannabis were discovered in the water near the Aran Islands over the weekend by a passing fishing vessel.

Today’s searches by a team of navy divers come after two more bales of cannabis were plucked from the water yesterday.

In total 14 kilos of the drug have been found, with an estimated street value of 100 thousand euro.
