WATER RESTORED TO CITY HOMES

Water has been restored to the majority of homes in the city that have experienced shortages since Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the city council says they have fixed the burst watermain on the Headford road, and the resevoirs in Ballybane and Briarhill have been refilled.

The work carried out is a temporary repair, and a more long term solution will be looked at in the coming weeks.

Water tankers will remain in place on the Doughiska Road and close to the Ballybane church over the weekend as a ‘fail safety’ precaution.
