It follows a meeting with stakeholders and Lets Do it Global last night.
A commitment has now been made to tackle issues, which arose from the last two Volvo Events in Galway in the hope that a bid can be put together for a host port in the 2014/2015 race.
A key concern raised at the meeting was over the current non for profit finding structure which organisers say is unsustainable.
Members of the Harbour Board, Failte Ireland and the City Council attended the meeting.
Marie McNamara of Let’s Do It Global says that stakeholders are going to work together to see if theY can come up with a better way and will reconvene on October 4th to put their ideas together.
