Volvo Ocean Race case ‘settled’
The civil case brought against Let’s Do It Galway by an international insurance firm has been “substantially settled”, Galway District Court has been told.
Liberty Mutual Direct Insurance Company Ltd, with registered offices at Dublin Road, Cavan, sought to recover €2,500 from Let’s Do It Galway Ltd, with registered offices at Galway Harbour Enterprise Park.
They also sought costs of €117.32, plus interest. The amount was in respect of a policy premium agreed between the parties.
“Despite repeated written and oral demands, calling upon the defendant to discharge the outstanding bill, including letters dated February 11 and January 23 2013, the defendant has failed, refused, or neglected to discharge the bill,” the civil summons stated.
Judge Alan Mitchell was advised by solicitor for the defendant, Pat Sheehan, that the matter had been substantially settled, but that there were still a few matters outstanding.
