VISITOR RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED AT UHG WARD

Visitor restrictions have been imposed at a public ward at University Hospital Galway following a suspected outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

The HSE is advising that visitors to St.Teresa’s ward should be limited to immediate family members except in special circumstances.

Very young children or those with serious illness should avoid visiting the ward as they may be particularly susceptible to the illness.

The winter vomiting bug is easily spread from person to person

It can be very distressing for those affected but usually clears up within a few days and generally does not have any long term effects.
