Three Saturdays: Three Kinds of Music had become a regular fixture in Galway’s arts calendar in recent years, offering audiences a tasting menu of classical, jazz, folk and traditional music, in venues such as the City Museum and Druid Theatre.

But like so many events this year, Covid-19 meant these popular live concerts couldn’t go ahead.

However, this Saturday, December 12, Galway Music Residency, which presents the series, will offer a digital version of Three Saturdays: Three Kinds of Music.

The day-long event, hosted by the Residency’s quartet in residence, ConTempo, will feature short performances from the diverse musicians who were originally due to perform at the series last Spring. Curated by musician Matthew Berrill, the one-day festival will feature some of Ireland’s best emerging and established performers.
