Utd. Target New Backers

GALWAY United are hopeful new investors will step in and plough money into the club for next season as it emerged this week that they need €275,000 in order to see it to the end of the current campaign on November 14.
While the club is not currently in negotiations with anyone about investing, it is believed a couple of people have expressed an interest in getting involved with the Terryland Park outfit. Two English businessmen attended United’s game against Bohemians two weeks ago, and were seen around the city centre later that week; while there have also been rumours that former Limerick FC Chairman, Danny Drew, is looking to buy the club.
In relation to Drew, efforts by Tribune Sport to contact the businessman earlier this week were unsuccessful, but United’s CEO Nick Leeson completely ruled out any suggestion that Drew had made any contact with regards to in investing in the club, and Tribune Sport believes such an approach would likely be rejected.
