Usage of city Christmas park n’ ride falls to 2011 levels

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Usage figures for the city’s Christmas park and ride service have slipped back to 2011 levels.

Just over 15 thousand 500 passengers used the bus service in 2013 with five thousand cars parked at the Ballybrit racecourse.

This compares to 22 thousand passengers carried in 2012 and just over six thousand cars – a drop of 29 percent on 2012 levels.

Cathy Joyce of Galway Transportation Unit says weather took its toll on what could have been a bumper year.
