URGENT CALLS FOR RE OPENING OF BALLYGAR GARDA STATION

A Fine Gael TD is urging the Government to take action in re-opening Ballygar Garda Station.

The station was forced to close following a fire over a month ago, and several community organisations have expressed fears it may remain shut.

Deputy Paul Conaughton is appealing to Minister for Justice, Alan Shatter and Minister Brian Hayes of the OPW to decide on a time frame to repair and re open the station.

Deputy Connaughton says the re-opening of the Garda station is essential to give the community peace of mind..
