UNPUBLISHED REPORT CASTS DOUBT OVER PORTIUNCULA MATERNITY UNIT

An unpublished report on the National Maternity Services is casting doubt on the future of Portiuncula Maternity Unit in Ballinasloe.

Fine Gael Galway East TD Ulick Burke claims the report is proposing to divide maternity services for pregnant women in East Galway between UHG and Tullamore in the midlands.

The HSE has declined to comment on the claims.
