United send out SOS to absent supporters

A RALLYING call has been made to the Galway sporting public to get behind Galway United’s Summer Soccer Festival and ensure the survival of Premier Division football in the city. Galway United President Michael D Higgins has issued the appeal to supporters to get behind the side during a crucial period for the club in the coming weeks.

“There are only ten top flight teams in the country, six of them are located in or around Dublin, so it is vital we ensure that Galway maintains its place in the Premier Division,” said Deputy Higgins.

United face two crucial Premier Division games at Terryland Park in July against Cork City and Dundalk, and will also welcome city native and former United keeper David Forde back to the venue when Millwall visit for a friendly.
