United seeking first win tonight

STRIKER Stephen O’Flynn is expected to make a return from injury to play some part in Galway United’s First Round League Cup clash with Longford Town at Terryland Park tonight (kick-off, 7.45pm).
O’Flynn has been struggling with a groin injury and hasn’t featured for United this season, but he has returned to full training without any reaction to the injury, and it is expected he will come off the bench for the final 10 or 15 minutes tonight.
United will be looking to finally get a win under their belt against the First Division side and build a bit of confidence ahead of the visit of Cork City in the league on Friday night.
Speaking after Friday night’s defeat in Drogheda, caretaker assistant manager Gareth Gorman said the fact United had a game so soon would work in their favour.
“The lads played well tonight without getting a reward, so in that respect it is good to have a game so soon. It gives us an opportunity to get a win under our belts and get the season …………..
