UNITE Trade Union will hold a meeting with Thermo king management next Wednesday over plans to cut staff from its city based plant.

It’s understood Thermo King is planning to cut up to 18 permanent and 12 temporary staff from its site at Mervue Industrial estate by the end of July.

The company, whic manufactures transport refrigeration equipment, is one of the city’s biggest employers.

It was also recently ranked 46th in the Irish Times top 100 Irish companies list, which is based on company turnover.
