NewDad...part of impressive OV Galway line-up

When you weave two of the country’s most critically acclaimed festival platforms together to host the cream of Ireland’s – and Galway’s – musical talents in an iconic setting, you know you have something very special on your hands.

Which is what will happen when, for the first time ever, Other Voices joins forces with the Galway International Arts Festival to broadcast an extraordinary one-off ‘Courage’ livestream on Friday, September 3, from the fabulous surrounds of St Nicholas’ Church.

Despite being long time admirers of each other’s work, this unique livestream marks the first time in their collective 64 years that the two legendary West Coast of Ireland festivals have collaborated, with Other Voices over the moon to kick off their 20th anniversary celebrations in style in Galway.

The stunning line-up includes Galway’s own NewDad; soulful rising afro-pop-star Tolü Makay, composer and performer Anna Mullarkey – and the spectacular duo of gifted multi-instrumentalist Susan O’Neill and renowned Irish songwriter Mick Flannery.

And OV Galway is free for all to enjoy online.

Mick Flannery + Susan O’Neill (aka SON) have already played and performed together – but now in a first for the Corkman, they have come together on a collaboration album ‘In the Game’ – described a themed collection of songs about a couple coming together and falling apart. And they are supporting that with a tour that also takes in Galway and a night at the Roisin Dubh later this year.

NewDad, really emerged last year during the lockdown with three consecutive A list singles at BBC 6Music and numerous plays on BBC Radio 1 plus also receiving support from Pigeons and Planes, Dork, HotPress and more.
