UNIONS STILL IN LRC TALKS WITH HSE AT MERLIN PARK
Date Published: 03-Aug-2010
Staff at Galway University Hospitals are warning that further budget cuts will make an already overcrowded and understaffed situation worse.
Today’s meeting between SIPTU, IMPACT and INMO trade unions with the HSE West at Merlin Park hospital in the city is now into its second hour
According to trade unions, the HSE West has been instructed to shave at least 68 million euro off its budget over the next four months.
It’s feared these cuts will lead to a thousand job losses, including up to 200 in the city alone.
