Under the Tree to be screened in Indreabhán

The Indreabhán Film Club began its new season of world cinema last Thursday in Seanscoil Sailearna, Indreabhán.

Club Scannán Sailearna shows mostly foreign language films, which are scKreened on Thursday evenings in the former school, 5km beyond An Spidéal on right hand side. Next week’s screening, on Thursday, October 4, is Under the Tree, a delightful film from Iceland about neighbours falling out because of a tree which casts a shadow into the next-door garden when the sun shines, as it does occasionally in Iceland. It was one of the favourite movies at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh.

This season’s programme will run until mid-December and will include an Irish language film, with more of these coming onstream annually thanks to TG4. All films are subtitled in English and are projected onto a big screen. Seanscoil Sailearna has tiered seating.

■ Full particulars of the new season’s programme, including trailers, are available from the film club’s website www.clubscannan.ie.
