UHG psychiatric nurses reject Minister’s safety assurances
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Psychiatric Nurses Association says it cannot accept Minister Kathleen Lynch’s assurances that acute mental health services at UHG are being delivered safely.
The PNA says the experience of the staff at the unit does not support the Minister’s view.
Yesterday, the Health and Safety Authority confirmed it was engaging with staff following complaints and concerns over staffing and safety.
According to the Psychiatric Nurses Association, the HSA is meeting with hospital management this evening to discuss the issues that have been raised.
PNA National Secretary, Noel Giblin, told Galway Bay fm news that short-staffing is affecting the delivery of care.
