UHG PATIENTS TO RECEIVE LETTERS OVER HEPATITIS C ALERT

More than 450 people in the West will hear today if they’re facing blood tests as part of a Hepatitis C alert at a number of hospitals in the region, including University Hospital Galway.

A review of patients was started ten months ago when it was discovered a healthcare worker who worked at three hospitals between 2004 and 2008 had contracted the disease.
