The acting manager of UHG is vowing to implement new measures to manage the high number of patients presenting at the Emergency department.

The INMO reported 51 people waiting on trollies earlier today, and there are now around 30 people still waiting for emergency treatment at the city hospital.

A senior member of the Irish Nurses and Widwives Organisation is recommending that UHG close its A&E Department to tackle the chaotic numbers there today.

It’s the highest number of patients waiting at any A and E in the country today.
