UDARAS LAND DEAL IN CONNEMARA AT RISK

A plan to develop a major sports and recreation complex in an Cheathrua Rua in Connemara has hit a hurdle.

Údarás na Gaeltachta had plans to purchase a 27 acre site close to the village but the Údarás now has legal advice that it is not empowered to buy the lands in question.

The impasse also has major implications for a number of people who were selling the land in question.
