TWO REMANDED IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING CONNEMARA CAR CHASE

Two men have been remanded in custody following a 30-mile high speed chase during which Gardai pursued a car from Galway city as far as Letterrfrack in Connemara in the early hours of Monday morning.

38 year old Jason Barry, of 83 O’Connell Avenue, Listowel, Co. Kerry and 19 year old Kris Lynam, of 29 Leac Liath, Barna, appeared in Garda custody before Galway District Court today.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear before Harristown District Court this Friday (February 8) for DPP’s directions.

Free legal aid was granted to both accused who are single and unemployed.
