Two remanded in court over Flynn robbery

TWO members of a Dublin criminal gang apprehended last Sunday night following a botched armed robbery at the home of a Claregalway businessman were remanded in custody, to appear before Harristown District Court next Friday, following their appearance before Galway District Court yesterday morning.

Thomas Freeman (53), 29 Deansrath Grove, Clondalkin, Co. Dublin, and Gregory Kelly (24), 63 Sandyhill Gardens, Ballymun, Dublin, are both charged with the false imprisonment of Julian and Emma Flynn at their home in Lackagh, Claregalway, on Sunday night last, February 15, and with the robbery of €3,000 in cash from the couple’s home on the same night.

Garda Alan Keane, of Oranmore Garda Station, who foiled the robbery attempt on Sunday night, gave evidence of putting the three charges to Freeman at Galway Garda Station last Tuesday morning to which he replied “no comment.”
