TWO MORE ARRESTED FOLLOWING CITY DRUGS SWOOP

Two more men have been arrested following a drugs swoop in the Claddagh in the city on Thursday
They are in custody at Milstreet Garda station under section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.
Five people who were in Garda custody following a seizure of heroin on Saint Dominicks Road have been released without charge and a file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A substantional quantity of heroin, with a street value of 4,000 Euro was seized in a search on a house in Saint Dominicks Road and intitally three people in the house were searched.
During the Garda operation a pit bull terrier attacked a Garda, who received extensive leg injuries.
The 40-year-old member of the force had to receive over 100 stitches to his left leg BUT has made a good recovery following surgery,
The two dogs were put down and on Friday a man and a woman were also arrested and held at Mill Street Station in relation to the drugs seizure.
Yesterday morning, three more men were arrested in relation and held at Tuam and Loughrea Garda Stations.
These people have now been released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
