TWO MEN TO APPEAR IN COURT IN CONNECTION WITH ATTEMPTED RAID ON INDREABHAN POST OFFICE

Two South African men will appear in court tommorow in connection with an attempted raid on Indreabhan Post office this week.

The two men in their 30s, were arrested near the Post Office around half past five Wednesday evening following an intelligence led operation into organised crime.

Gardaí from Galway and Salthill were supported by the Garda Emergency response unit in the arrests.

A number of items including a firearm, knives, balaclavas, gloves and mobile phones were recovered at the scene.

The two men are currently being held at Milstreet Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
