TWO MEN RESCUED AFTER BOAT SINKS IN GALWAY BAY

Two men had a lucky escape after being rescued from their sinking speedboat in Galway Bay yesterday.

The Irish Coastguard was forced to respond after the 15 foot pleasure craft started taking in water and was sinking fast, between Seapoint and Mutton Island.

The speedboat sank quickly, but the two men, who were wearing life-jackets, were picked up by the Galway RNLI Lifeboat.

A spokesperson for the RNLI said their life-jackets saved the men.
