TWO MEN DUE BEFORE SPECIAL CRIMINAL COURT IN GALWAY DISSIDENT PROBE

Two men, arrested as part of an investigation into dissident activity in Galway, are due before the Special Criminal Court today.

They were arrested after Gardai siezed guns and explosives in Monivea and Tuam last Wednesday.

Judge Geoffrey Browne extended their period of detention at Galway District Court on Friday evening.

They were released at 7pm last evening and rearrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

They’re due before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin at half one today.
