TWO IN COURT REGARDING NORTH GALWAY ARMS PROBE

TWO men, who have been in custody following the seizure of commercial explosives and guns in North Galway on Wednesday night, made a brief court appearance in the city last night (Friday).

The two men appeared before Judge Jeffory Browne at Galway Court at 8 o’clock last night.

The two who were in court were, Tom Coffey from Hundred Acres, Monivea and Tom Hughes, 28 An Tuairin, Dublin Road, Tuam.

The are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939/98 and Judge Browne extended their period of detention at Galway Garda Station by a further 24 hours.
