TWO GROUPS FACING LENGTHY WAIT FOR OUTCOME OF BYPASS CHALLENGE

Two campaign groups challenging the outer city bypass are facing a lengthy wait to see if their bid to block the bypass has been successful.

The actions by local environmental group Hands Across the Corrib Ltd of Ballinfoyle and Peter Sweetman have both now concluded at the Commercial Court.

Mr Justice George Birmingham has reserved judgement on both actions taken against the State and An Bord Pleanála over the outer city bypass.

Mr Justice Birmingham will deliver his judgement on both actions later this year.
