Two arrested following serious assault in city centre

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Two people have been arrested in an investigation into a serious assault in the city in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened at around 3am in the Woodquay area and Gardai remained at the scene for several hours afterwards.
The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries during the assault and was taken to University Hospital Galway.
Two people have been arrested in relation to the incident and are being questioned at Mill Street Garda Station.
